I've never been a big fan of "cover bands", so when I bought Swimming Towards the Sun, an album of Simple Minds songs, as performed by various bands of a wide array of backgrounds, I was blown away by what I heard. The selections stand on their own as unique interpretations of Simple Minds songs, and I heartily recommend seeking out the work by these dozen or so artists, not the least of which is a band by the name of Sample Minds.
